Strawberry Hair Curlers
Sweet Strawberry Hair Curlers
I stumbled across these Strawberry Ball Sponge Curlers, Image Courtesy of Amazon
These strawberry sponge curlers are basically a variation of sponge ball hair curlers...these are sometimes called Japanese sponge ball hair curlers. The plain ball shaped ones kind of look like macarons to me. Then there are other shapes like stars, hearts, and even pumpkins too. Strawberries seem to be the most common and popular kind though.
They tend to come in packages of 4 to 6 pieces. I personally would try to get a couple 6 packs so you can have a total of 12. You may find you want/need more than that too, depending on how much hair you have, how thick it is, and other factors like how loose or tight you want the curls to be.
How to Use Strawberry Sponge Hair Rollers
Here are few video tutorials of how to use strawberry hair rollers. The first one is rather long, even though she sped up the video in certain parts, so you may want to skip ahead through those sections, but I really liked it. If you are in a hurry the shortest video, while still showing enough detail, is the one with the girl wearing the pink t-shirt.
There seems to be quite a few youtube videos out there showing how to use these....and there seems to be several different methods (some say start rolling from the middle of your hair, others say start rolling from the ends, some twist the hair before rolling, and so forth).
If you have the patience you might want to watch more than one tutorial to help find the technique that works best for you. So many of them have different tips that you can pick up on that I found really helpful.
Sponge Ball Hair Rollers
Here are some more sponge ball hair curlers in other shapes in addition to the strawberry curlers. The plain basic ones will make it look like you have cute, yummy macarons (a French cookie whose cousin is the more familiar macaroon) in your hair!

Butterflies, stars, flowers and hearts are just some of the shapes available for sponge ball type hair curlers. Pink/red seems to be the most popular color for these.
